The role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Business Analyst who is interested in finance systems to join our team. You will be a good communicator who is able to work with a range of stakeholders on an IT implementation programme. You will bring experience of working with the Finance function and will be looking at accounting areas such as General Ledger and Fixed Assets. As our Business Analyst, you will use your knowledge of a range of tools and techniques to produce deliverables that provide insight and efficiency, to drive the success of our organization.

Your Responsibilities:
  ​ 
  • Process mapping: Document As-Is and To-Be processes for accounting and finance
  • Requirements gathering: Identify essential requirements from stakeholders
  • Gap Analysis: Identify the differences between the current and future states and the change impacts
  • Process documentation: Produce Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents
  • Data dictionaries: Understanding of tables for databases e.g. to build the Chart of Accounts
  • Reporting: Validate existing reports and document the requirements for new reports
  • Data migration: Perform the data migration and liaise with stakeholders for validation
  • UAT: Liaise with stakeholders to create test scenarios and test scripts. Support end users through the UAT process and application training
  • Systems knowledge: Liaise with the software provider to learn and communicate aspects of the new system

Position Requirements: 
 
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst focused on the accounting domain i.e. the Finance function, processes and systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical and complex information to people at different levels and teams within the organisation
  • Able to build relationships with stakeholders and understand their needs
  • Familiar with process mapping, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documentation and use of Visio
  • Numerate, able to work with data and proficient with Excel
  • Attention to detail and able to carry out analysis
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly
  • IT knowledge i.e. understanding of finance system functionality, databases, reporting
  • Proactive i.e. able to make suggestions about use of technology and identify risks and issues

Desirable:
 
  • Business Analyst education e.g. college or university modules or diplomas, BCS certificates
  • Accounting education e.g. college or university courses, diplomas or degrees, part-qualified or qualified accountant
  • IT education e.g. college or university modules, diplomas or degrees, BCS certificates
  • Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders
