Role: Senior Consultant Systems Analyst

Location: Hybrid, London, United Kingdom

Contract: 12 – 18-month FTC

Responsibilities

Technical Analysis and Documentation:

  • Collaborate with Medical Change Leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to perform detailed technical analysis of business and end-user needs.
  • Document comprehensive requirements for business solutions, ensuring alignment with healthcare regulations and best practices.
  • Evaluate current departmental procedures and processes, recommending re-engineering strategies to optimise system capabilities and enhance productivity, performance, and accuracy.

System Build and Implementation:

  • Work with HCA EHR Medical Change Leads, SMEs, and cross-site teams to ensure proposed solutions are built and fit for purpose and patient-centric.
  • Coordinate the implementation of departmental systems, including completing workflow analysis and ensuring smooth integration with other internal and external systems.
  • Build and develop system functionality following technical specifications sheets.

Testing and Validation:

  • Support clinical teams through unit testing and integrated testing phases of the EHR implementation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate testing activities, ensuring thorough evaluation and clinical validation of the EHR system's functionality and workflows.
  • Identify and address issues arising during testing, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders for prompt resolution.
  • Participate in the planning, testing, and validating pathways before the safe transfer of data to the live EHR system.

Training and Knowledge Transfer:

  • Participate in and lead training sessions and workshops to educate clinicians on best practices and documentation requirements.
  • Work closely with the training and development team to facilitate effective knowledge transfer from the clinical build team.
  • Contribute clinical expertise to developing comprehensive training materials and programs for end-users.
  • Ensure clinical staff are adequately prepared for the transition to the new EHR system, providing ongoing support and guidance.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate processes and workflows related to the EHR implementation, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
  • Support the planning and operationalisation of cutover and go-live activities as clinical leadership directs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and streamline operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Innovation and Technological Advancement:

  • Investigate innovative ideas and technological concepts to improve current systems and develop efficient processes.
  • Identify opportunities to automate routine processes, enhancing the functionality of the new EHR system and supporting exemplary patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Essential:

  • Certification or evidence of relevant experience in implementing technological change and/or business analysis.
  • Previous experience in scoping or mapping requirements for digital health implementation projects within the UK healthcare setting.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in key applications such as Visio, Excel, and MS Teams.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable insight for process improvement.
  • Detail-oriented approach to reviewing documentation, process maps, and requirements.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced agile team environment.
  • A self-starter with a passion for learning and development.

Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in Electronic Health Record implementation projects in a business analyst, technological build, or operational capacity.
  • Front-facing stakeholder management skills and exposure to Project Agile environments.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record systems and comfortable with technology adoption.
  • Adaptable and initiative-taking, with a solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices related to electronic health record systems.
